Andy is a United States Coast Guard licensed captain and owner of Cohutta Fishing Company. Andy’s passion for fishing began at a very early age fishing everything from farm ponds to lakes, and rivers. Growing up in South Georgia there was abundant opportunities for largemouth and bream fishing along the Flint River. Over the past 30 years his fishing experiences has taken him to several destinations including the Virgin Islands, Mexico, Costa Rica, Florida Keys, Chile, western rivers, Cuba, Seychelles (East Africa), Baja (Mexico) and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He is a member of CCA, Trout Unlimited (Coosa Valley Chapter), Bonefish and Tarpon Trust, and the Atlanta Fly Fishing Club.
Conner Jones

Conner grew up in North Ga fishing for Bream and Bass. He learned to fly cast on lakes and ponds fishing for bream and soon after graduated to fly fishing for trout. As he began to learn more about fly fishing, subjects like entomology, fly tying, and our native brook trout became his focus. Conner still enjoy chasing brookies in the high elevation streams but is really at home throwing poppers to bass and chasing Striper on the Etowah. Conner is our Fly Tying Instructor here at the shop, as well as Shop Manager and is always happy to talk fishing with whoever comes in.

Garner is the premier fly guide on the Etowah, Striper are in his blood. He grew up in Northwest Georgia; hunting and fishing were always a way of life. If he is not on the water with a rod, you can bet he has a shotgun or a bow in his hands. After venturing out West and exploring the waters of Western Montana he wandered his way back home to work for Cohutta Fishing Company to chase river stripers, Brookies in the Appalachians, as well as other fresh and saltwater species. Garner also runs trips to destinations from Chile to Louisiana and everywhere in between.

A Virginia native, Lewyn grew up on the water, and feels most at home in and on any body of water. He made a first career out of serving our great Nation, and recently retired from Naval Special Operations after 23 years. As a welcome departure from military life, Lewyn found himself fishing across the Eastern seaboard… ultimately ending up in Montana to obtain his Fly Fishing Guide certification. Lewyn has the unique ability to teach to all levels, and has spent the last several seasons in North Georgia honing his craft. He is excited to join Cohutta’s amazing team. Lewyn espouses a no-fail mentality when it comes to stalking trophy trout, but couples his fishing trips with excitement and a no-pressure atmosphere. Drew is a Cartersville Native, growing up on the banks of the Etowah River. Drew’s passion for fly fishing has led him from Cartersville to Montana where he Completed Sweetwater Guide School on the Yellowstone, to Colorado where he lived for a spell and fished Estes Park before returning home to Cartersville. Drew is a versatile fisherman who is just at home slinging big streamers for Stripers on the Etowah as he is casting dry flies to brook trout in the mountains. Drew is a great instructor and is happy to teach novice anglers as well as people with more advanced skill.

Jacob grew up in a sporting family, spending much of his teenage years hunting and fishing in both North and South Georgia. His love for the outdoors soon led him to a fly rod, which developed into a passion. Jacob will chase anything that swims, but especially enjoys anything that will blow up on a fly or challenge his skills as an angler. His knowledge of fly fishing comes from a desire to learn and share his passion with both beginner and expert fly fisherman.
